Effective Date: 25 October 2026

The information laid out in this document constitutes a legally binding contract between Foraged™ ('we', 'us', 'our') and the client ('you', 'your', 'participant'). Booking a place on any course or purchasing a voucher with Foraged™ signifies unconditional acceptance of these terms.

Booking Confirmation & Payment

  1. Payment Options: Bookings can be secured by either (a) a 50% non-refundable deposit or (b) full course payment. Payment must be cleared in our designated Bank, PayPal, or Stripe account before a booking is officially confirmed.
  2. Participant Status: Bookings are accepted from individual participants, group lead participants, or legally recognized guardians acting on behalf of a minor, subject to any specifications explicitly detailed in the booking form.
  3. Balance Due Date: Where a 50% deposit is paid, the remaining balance must be cleared at least 4 weeks (exactly 672 hours) prior to the scheduled course start time. Failure to pay the balance by this deadline will result in automatic cancellation of the booking and forfeiture of the deposit.
  4. Right of Refusal: Foraged™ reserves the absolute right to refuse or decline bookings to any party or individual at our sole discretion. In such cases, any fees already paid will be refunded immediately in full.
  5. No Re-sale: Course bookings are made strictly between Foraged™ and the designated client. Places must not be re-sold, commercialized, or transferred to third parties without our prior written consent.

Cancellations & Cooling-Off Period

  1. Statutory Cooling-Off Period: In accordance with applicable UK consumer laws, clients are entitled to a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of initial purchase, during which they may cancel the booking for a full refund. Exception: This cooling-off period does not apply if the booking is made less than 14 days before the course start date and time.
  2. Standard Cancellations: Any cancellation made after the 14-day cooling-off period but before the 4-week window will result in the forfeiture of the 50% non-refundable deposit. Cancellations made within 4 weeks (672 hours) of the course start date are completely non-refundable unless Foraged™ successfully re-sells the vacant spot.
  3. Discretionary Compassionate Relief: Partial or full refunds/vouchers may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion in verified events of unexpected physical impairment due to unpreventable injury, acute disease, or immediate family bereavement occurring within 4 weeks of the course.

Cancellations & Changes by Foraged™

  1. Standard Course Cancellations: In the highly unlikely event that Foraged™ cancels a course due to non-safety or non-seasonal reasons, a full refund of the course fee will be issued back to the original payment method.
  2. Weather and Safety Disruption: Foraged™ courses operate in natural environments. If adverse weather or safety alerts dictate that a location is unsafe, Foraged™ reserves the right to relocate the course, move it to an indoor/sheltered space, or reschedule the date. If a client cannot attend a strictly rescheduled date or alternative open course, a Foraged™ voucher valid for 24 months will be issued to protect your booking. Such forced weather disruptions do not qualify for cash refunds.
  3. Seasonal Constraints: Foraging depends heavily on natural growth cycles. Foraged™ reserves the right to modify specific course content or target species in line with seasonal variations out of our control.
  4. Limitation of Extra Costs: Foraged™ is not liable for any secondary or consequential losses incurred by clients due to cancellations or rescheduling (e.g., pre-booked travel, accommodation, or rail cards). Clients are strongly advised to obtain appropriate travel insurance.

Gift Vouchers

  1. Transferability & Validity: Gift vouchers are fully transferable to another party as gifts and are strictly valid for 24 months from the date of issue.
  2. Commercialization: Vouchers may not be resold for a commercial profit or through secondary marketplaces without explicit prior written authorization from Foraged™.
  3. Residual Value: If a voucher is used for a booking of lower value than the voucher total, the remaining balance is retained on the account for future bookings. Clients may verify their remaining balance at checkout or by contacting us directly.

Participant Conduct

  1. Code of Conduct: All clients must adhere to the Student Conduct guidelines within the Foraged™ Code of Conduct and Principles of Practice. Instructors reserve the absolute right to issue a warning or eject any individual from a course without a refund if their behavior is disruptive, dangerous, or harmful.

Wild Food Consumption & Foraging Safety Disclaimer

  1. In-Course Consumption & Instructor Authority: During any Foraged™ event, course, or walk (the "Event"), clients may be presented with wild plants, fungi, or other natural materials ("Wild Materials"). Clients are strictly prohibited from consuming, tasting, touching, or harvesting any Wild Material unless explicitly and unambiguously instructed that it is safe to do so by the designated Foraged™ course leader in situ. Any ingestion of Wild Materials during the Event is undertaken entirely at the client’s own risk and choice.
  2. Post-Course Independence & Education Only: All information, guidance, materials, and identification markers provided by Foraged™ during an Event, on its website, or via printed/digital materials are intended strictly for educational, illustrative, and entertainment purposes. Foraging is an inherently risky activity due to seasonal variations, ecological changes, and toxic lookalikes. Foraged™ does not warrant or guarantee that a client will be able to safely identify wild species independently.
  3. Client Responsibility & Health Disclosures: Clients acknowledge that wild foods can cause unpredictable adverse reactions, including but not limited to gastrointestinal distress, allergic reactions, food poisoning, or severe toxicity. It is the client’s sole responsibility to:
    1. Disclose any known food allergies, medical conditions, or dietary restrictions to the course leader prior to the start of the Event;
    2. Exercise personal caution and refrain from tasting any material if they are pregnant, breastfeeding, or immunocompromised; and
    3. Seek independent, qualified expert verification before consuming any wild food gathered outside the specific Event framework.
    4. Booking Form Declarations & Allergen Accuracy: It is a condition of booking that the client accurately completes the digital booking form, explicitly declaring any known allergies, dietary requirements, or medical vulnerabilities at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the Event. Foraged™ relies strictly on this digital declaration when planning and preparing Tasters. Foraged™ accepts no liability for adverse reactions arising from a client's failure to disclose, or inaccurate disclosure of, any health or allergen information on the booking form.
  4. Absolute Exclusion of Post-Event Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Foraged™, its instructors, directors, and agents accept zero liability for any injury, illness, poisoning, hospitalization, or death arising from a client’s independent foraging activities undertaken after the conclusion of the Event. By booking a place, the client explicitly waives the right to bring any legal claim against Foraged™ regarding the consumption of wild flora or fauna outside the direct, supervised scope of the course.
  5. Cooked Food, Pre-made Tasters, and Food Hygiene: Foraged™ may provide prepared wild food samples, preserves, hot infusions, or cooked tasters (the "Tasters") during the Event. While Foraged™ maintains rigorous standards regarding culinary preparation and hygiene, Tasters are prepared in wild, outdoor, or non-commercial kitchen environments.
    1. The client acknowledges that wild foods undergo organic chemical changes during cooking, and that individuals may experience unique digestive reactions to wild proteins and complex fibers.
    2. Consumption of any Taster is completely optional. Clients with sensitive digestive systems, pre-existing gastrointestinal conditions, or unknown food sensitivities consume Tasters at their own absolute discretion.
  6. Specific Wild Mushroom (Fungi) Warning & Waiver: Mushrooms and fungi carry an exceptionally high risk of misidentification, permanent physiological damage, or fatal poisoning due to toxic lookalikes.
    1. Clients explicitly acknowledge that wild mushroom identification is an advanced skill requiring years of experience. Attending a Foraged™ Event does not qualify a client to safely harvest or consume wild fungi independently.
    2. The "100% Identification Rule": Clients are strictly prohibited from consuming any wild fungus gathered post-Event unless they have independently verified the species using multiple professional sources and possess 100% absolute certainty. Foraged™ accepts zero liability for any self-guided mushroom harvesting or consumption.

Intellectual Property (IP)

  1. All educational materials, workbooks, handouts, slides, videos, and organizational materials provided during the course are the exclusive intellectual property of Foraged™. No part of the course materials or unique educational frameworks may be reproduced, recorded, shared online, or utilized for commercial training or business gain without prior written consent.

Insurance, Liability Limits, & Complaints

  1. Insurance Coverage: Foraged™ instructors maintain Public Liability Insurance up to £5,000,000 and Professional Indemnity Insurance up to £5,000,000.
  2. Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, the maximum aggregate liability of Foraged™ for any claim arising out of or in connection with a booking shall be strictly capped at the total amount paid by the client for that specific booking.
  3. Complaints Procedure: We strive to maintain the highest educational and experiential standards. If you wish to lodge a formal complaint, please submit it using our official contact form within 14 days of your course date.
