A half day foraging walk exploring the abundance of late autumn mushrooms. At this time of year if the conditions are right some of the best eating mushrooms start to put in an appearance. Winter Chanterelle, Hedghog Mushrooms, Wood Blewitts, Velvet Shank - to name but a few.
The location of this walk is Masketts Manor featuring ancient Beech woodland, wild birch and various plantion - neighbouring the Ashdown Forest. This course will introduce you to the fundamental skills required forage for wild mushrooms safely and with ecological consideration. You will get to explore various woodland habitats at this location under the guidance of experienced forager James Grant. James will show you how to approach the subject of foraging in a safe and fun manner considering the different fungi families and their features to get you started exploring the world of mushroom hunting.
